Sustainability at ICER BRAKES
ICER BRAKES has a strong commitment to ESG principles (Environmental, Social, Governance), which guide our operations and corporate values.
Social Area

ICER, an environmentally friendly company
Finally, in the environmental aspect (E), Icer is an ecological company, and we work to contribute to a more sustainable world. We want to be active players in the construction of a responsible future and this commitment is present in our company culture and our actions. All this is reflected in our slogan: “Better Brakes for a Better World”.
ICER products are environmentally friendly: all our brake pads are copper-free and heavy metal free. Icer products are certified as Level N according to the USA Better Brakes Law.
Our boxes are made with 100% recycled card board, and they are 100% recyclable and biodegradable. Also, they have been specially designed to limit the impact of their production on the environment.
In our factory in Tudela (Navarra), we work to implement different measures to ensure that our manufacturing process is responsible and respectful with the environment. Our manufacturing process is based on circular economy and we use multiple recycled materials.
Installation of a photovoltaic plant for self-consumption
Our commitment to the environment can also be seen in our efforts to use clean energies. In 2020 we set up a self-consumption photovoltaic installation in our manufacturing plant in Tudela (Navarra). This plant has a power output of 1.8 megawatts, which means it covers around 20% of our annual electricity consumption in Tudela, and it helps avoid the emission of 600 tons of CO2 every year. We are currently working on expanding this plant to reach 35% of our energy consumption.
Commitment to Initiatives
UN Global Compact
In 2023, ICER BRAKES joined the UN Global Compact, an initiative for the development and disclosure of responsible business practices through the application of the Ten Universally Accepted Principles of the United Nations and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Sernauto
At the national level, ICER is part of Sernauto’s Responsible Business Communication, which brings together automotive suppliers that have strategies for responsibility and commitment to the environment. The aim of this commission is to share initiatives carried out in companies, to promote the development of sustainability strategies and to encourage the implementation of good practices.
EnREDarse
At the local level, in early 2023, ICER BRAKES joined the EnREDarse Project, the leading network in Navarre in the field of sustainability. This initiative brings together committed companies in Navarre and seeks to raise awareness of different sustainability strategies that serve as inspiration to promote a responsible business culture.
Energy efficiency programme in industry (IDAE)
ICER BRAKES, S.A. has carried out an energy efficiency improvement project at its production plant in Tudela (Navarra), consisting of replacing the existing air compressors with two new variable speed compressors with integrated dryers. The project was carried out within the framework of the Aid Programme for Energy Efficiency Measures in SMEs and Large Companies in the Industrial Sector, managed by the Institute for Energy Diversification and Saving (IDAE) and financed by the National Energy Efficiency Fund, with a contribution from the Ministry for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge and co-financing from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
